ABOUT

Hillshapes is a collaboration between choreographer Libbie Horton and composer Kä Neunhoffer.  The two set out to independently produce modern repertoire for dance and music, working together to create stage and screen productions that challenge their abilities and imaginations.

CHOREOGRAPHER
Libbie Horton

Horton graduated from Texas State University with a bachelors in Dance: emphasis Performance and Choreography - Summa Cum Laude. While she was a member of Merge Dance Company, she traveled and performed in London, Trinidad, Houston, Austin, New Braunfels, and College Station. She has worked with notable choreographers such as Katherine Duke (artistic director of the Erik Hawkins Dance Company), Andy and Dione Noble, and Jennifer Sherburn. Horton is a member of Psalm 149 dance company, and performs with other companies in the Texas Hill Country. Living in Kerrville the past year, she has completed various dance film projects for Austin Dance Hub and teaches dance at Peggy Ann and Cece Jean’s Dance Studio. COLOSSUS will be the ninth project she has completed with Kä Neunhoffer.

COMPOSER
Kä Neunhoffer

Eighth generation Texan, fifth generation in the same Kerrville ranch home, Kä Neunhoffer has deep connected roots to the hill country and its history. She went to Berklee College of Music where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Film Scoring in 2017. After college, Neunhoffer moved to Los Angeles where she worked for such artists as platinum record artist Jeff Russo then later Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer. Today she works as a freelance film and concert composer, and sits as the principal flute and Artistic Director of Les Femmes Cinq. She is an active member of the Alliance of Women Film Composers, and focuses on ethical, diverse productions and female representation in the music industry. Her music has been performed in Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and all over the United States. Her body of work includes film, ballets, theater, screen dances, animation, and two albums. Performances of her live works have sold out shows in Texas and California alike.
