Hillshapes joins nonprofit organization, Big Seed, once again to fill the stages of Kerrville. Panelists Kä Neunhoffer, Libbie Horton, Landon Lloyd Miller, Kate Hattier, Tanesha Payne, and Alyson Amestoy teamed up to host a masterclass and workshop discussing the contemporary opportunities in the arts, career paths, and what kinds of skills young people should be investing in early to create a firm base for success later in their careers. After a full day of seminars and breakout lessons, Horton leading a team of dancers and Neunhoffer leading a team of musicians joined together on the stage to present a prepared classical piece and two contemporary improvisational pieces all rehearsed and prepared in just a handful of hours. After the performance, the student cast joined the Kerrville public filling out the Arcadia Theater to hear a discussion on professional development emceed by local journalist Louis Amestoy. With a room full of questions from the younger generation of talent we can see that the arts are alive and thriving today and tomorrow in Texas.
